Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Jeep Patriot- Video

This is a roof-mounted bike rack, part number TR02. First thing we need to do is pick up our rack and place it onto the crossbars of our roof rack. You can see there's kind of a little dent here at the top which you'll want to set that kind of on the strip or, depending on what kind of bar you have, just on the center. Next we'll pull out our rubber-coated U-bolts which will then go around the underside of the bar and then up through the predrilled holes at the head of the bike rack. Let's see. We'll find the holes first. more

Swagman Upright Roof Bike Racks Review - 2013 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today we have a 2013 Jeep Patriot in the studio. We'll be doing a quick test of it on the Swagman Upright Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64720. First thing we need to do is place the bike rack up onto our vehicle's crossbars. You get everything situated, you want this front platform to be resting over your front bar. With that in place we'll pull out some of our hardware. We'll start with the silver U-bolts, which will go around the underside of the front bar up through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack. Once you get those through, then we'll take our black wing nuts and thread those onto it. more

Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today, on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth Frame Clamp Style Roof Rack, Part Number TH599XTR. Now we've got the Thule crossroads roof rack system already installed on the Cherokee, so we're going begin our test fit by removing the two T bolts from the lower portion of our front clamps. Then we'll bring them around the underside of our load bar and we reinsert our T bolts back in and loosely tighten down those wing nuts just to hold them in place. We can then tighten down both of those wing nuts and that's going to secure our front clamp to our front load bar. We then come here to there rear. The rear clamp, we're going to loosen both wing nuts up and we need to remove one completely. We're then going to slide that rear clamp up, allow it to come down. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel-Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02103. With the Yakima round-bar roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our FrontLoader directly onto our cross bars. We'll bring the front clamp around the front bar, use a T-handle at the front to secure the clamp around the front bar. We'll bring the rear clamp around the rear bar, drop the T-bolt through the appropriate slot, and use the T-handle on the T-bolt to secure the rear clamp around the rear bar. Now with our bike rack secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and open up the wheel holder at the front. We'll grab our bike and place it onto the bike rack, pushing it forward to rend 00:00:56 the rear part of the wheel mount around the back of our front tire. Then we can use the red hand knob to secure the front wheel in the holder. At the rear we'll bring the rear strap around the rear wheel and tighten it down. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass we're going to be test fitting the Yakima ForkLIft Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02098. With the Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Yakima ForkLift directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we'll bring the clamp around the front bar. We'll take our t-bolt, fit it through the appropriate slot, and tighten it down. We'll take the slotted bracket, place it around the t-bolt, and then install our skewer. We'll go ahead and leave that open for when we're ready to load our bike. Here at the rear we'll bring our rear clamp around the rear bar, drop our t-bolt through, and tighten it down. more

Thule Sprint Fork Mount Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Sprint Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, part number TH528. With the Thule Rapid Podium Roof Rack system installed on the roof of our Compass, we'll begin our test-fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. At the front here, I'm going to make sure the strap is around the underside of the front bar. Then I'll move to the rear and do the same. With the strap around the bar, I'll bring it back up and hook it into the connection point. Then I'll turn the Speed-Link handle at the back, which will tighten down the rubber-coated steel strap around the bar. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass we'll be testing the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With the Thule Rapid Podium Roof Rack System assembled onto the roof of our Jeep, we'll begin our test fit by placing the rack directly onto our load bars. Starting at the front here we'll take the silver u-bolts to go around the underside of the front bar, up through the pre-drilled holes at the head of the carrier. We'll then take out our black wing nuts that thread down onto the bolt. Once this is done for both sets, we'll move to the rear and this time take the remaining silver u-bolts that go down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack. We'll then take the pre-drilled hole of the end on one of the plate and have one end of the silver u-bolt go through the hole. We'll then thread on our wing nut and swing the plate around the underside of the rear bar, inserting the other end of the u-bolt into the other hole of the plate. more

With the Thule Rapid Podium Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. Starting at the front here we'll take the silver u-bolts to go around the underside of the front bar up through the pre-drilled holes at the head of the bike rack. We'll then thread our wing nuts down onto the u-bolts to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front crossbar. Then moving to the rear, this time we'll take the silver u-bolts to go down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack, and then using the black plate, we'll insert the silver u-bolt into the hole of the plate and install our wing nut. We'll swing the plate around and insert the other end of the u-bolt into the other hole of the plate and install our wing nut. Once all the wing nuts are all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll need to undo the cam buckle straps at the front and rear of the bike rack and double check to make sure the jaws are loose as well by loosening up the black knob. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass, we'd be test-fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof-mounted Bike Rack, part number RKY1011. With the Thule Rapid Podium's roof rack system installed on to the roof of our Jeep, we'll begin our test-fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicle's load bars. We'll start at the front and remove the back plastic cover and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the under side of the bar. We'll bring them up around and hook them back into the connection points. We'll then move to the rear and remove one of the Allen bolts from the bracket to position the top and bottom bracket are on the top and bottom side of the rear crossbar. After reinstalling the Allen bolt, we'll tighten it down using the Allen wrench, move back up to the front and tighten down the silver bolt at the head of carrier. Once everything is tight, we'll go ahead and replace our black plastic cover and loosen up our skewer. Finally, we'll undo the cam buckle strap at the back and place our bike up to the bike rack. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Jeep Compass we'll be test fitting the Kuat Trio Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number RU01. With the Thule Rapid Podium Roof Rack System assembled on to the roof of our Jeep we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicles crossbars. I'm going to start at the back and remove one of the black wingnuts and position the two bolts on both the front and back side of the rear bar. I'll insert the bolt through the hole of the plate and then reinstall the wingnut. I'm going to keep it loose though, just in case we're going to make any adjustments. I move to the front and bring the rubber-coated u-bolts around the underside of the front bar up to the pre-drilled holes to the front part of the bike rack. Then I'll take the cylinder nuts to thread down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack on to the u-bolts. Then I'll use the included tensioning tool to tighten on the bolts. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, well be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth, a frame clamp roof-mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. With our Thule Crossroads roof rack system already installed on our Patriot, well begin the test fit by placing our Big Mouth directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, well loosen two wing-nuts, take the T-bolts out of the clamps, bring our clamps around our load bar, place the T-bolt back into the slot, and tighten them down using the two wing-nuts. Once those are secure, well move to the rear and take the bolt out of the metal plate. Well then bring our bolts around our load bar, place the one weve removed back through our plate, and secure it down using a wing-nut. Once this is secure, were ready to load our bike. Well undo our wheel straps and open our frame jaws. Well place our bike onto the rack, securing it first using the frame jaw. Well do this by lifting the arm and engaging our clamp with the black lever. more

We'll begin our test fit placing the rack directly onto our load bars. We'll then bring one of the large U bolts around the under side of our load bar through the head of our bike rack and secure it with the 2 wing knots. We'll then repeat the same process for the other side of the head in the front. Here at the rear, we'll place our U bolt through the top of the bike rack, making sure that each bolt goes around our rear cross bar. We'll then install our plate, make sure the bolts go through our plate and secure it by tightening down 2 wing knots. With our racks secure, we're ready to load our bike. First, we'll undo our wheel straps and open our frame jaws. more

Today, on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, we'll be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a Fork Mount Roof Bike rack, part #ru01. With the Thule Aeroblade Edge Roof Rack System already on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our load bars. At the front, we'll a black rubber coated u-bolt around the underside of our load bar, fit it to through the head of our rack, and thread onto the barrel nuts. On the other side of the front, we'll do the same thing. Once we have all 4 started, we'll take the included Allen tool and tighten these down. We'll now move to the rear, where we'll remove one of the thumb nuts, bring one bolt down on either side of the load bar, replace the bottom half of our clamp, and secure it with a thumb nut. Once we have this secured, we're ready to load our bike. We'll loosen our front skewer and undo our rear wheel strap, then grab our bike. more

Today on our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift roof-mounted bike rack, part number Y02098. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin by placing our ForkLift directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring our clamp around our front bar, we'll go ahead and remove our skewer, and then, we'll tighten down our T handle to secure the front part. We'll then slide thebracket up around the T handleand reinstall our skewer. Here at the rear, we'll bring our rear clamp around our rear bar, drop the T bolt through the appropriate slot, and tighten it by twisting the T handle on top. With the front and rear secure, we'll go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure that our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack, drop in our front forks down onto our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. That completes today's test fit for the Yakima ForkLift roof-mounted bike rack, part number Y02098, on our 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. . more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Jeep Liberty- Video
Today on our 2008 Jeep Liberty well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number s64710. Well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicles load bars. Well then pull out our hardware and start with the silver brackets to go underneath the front load bar into the predrilled holes of the front part of the rack. Well then thread on our black wing nuts onto the silver brackets. Well now move to the rear and take our last silver bracket and this time place down on top of the carrier through the predrilled holes and take the black plate which will go on to the silver bracket up against the bottom side of the rear load bar. Well then use the included wing nuts to thread onto the silver bracket to secure the rear part of the carrier to the rear load bar. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Fork mounted roof mount bike carrier, part number th513. Now with our roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle load bars. Well loosen up the front and rear bracket to bring the brackets around the underside of the load bars. Now for the front bracket, you must remove the skewer in order to have access to the front two Allen bolts. Well loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the bracket around the front load bar and then tighten them back in place. Then for the rear bracket well loosen up the Allen bolts and bring the bracket around the rear load bar and then tighten them down with the included Allen key and replace the skewer. more

Today on our 2004 Jeep Patriot, were going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork style roof mounted bike carrier, part number s64710. To begin our test fit, well want to attach our bike carrier directly to our bars. Well place the bike rack up on top of our load bars. At the front well fit the tow U-bolts around our load bars and use the ring nuts to secure the front of the bike rack. Next well move to the rear of the bike carrier and well fit the U-bolt through the carrier from the top. Well take the clamp and two wing nuts to clamp around the bar from the bottom. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part #RKY1014. Our Patriot is equipped with factory side rails and a Thule Roof Rack, so were going to mount the RockyMounts Tierod directly to our Thule Aeroblades. Well lift up the carrier and set it on top of our load bars. Next well go ahead and feed the steel straps at the head of the bike carrier around our front bar. Well lock them into the head and use an Allen key to tighten them down. Then we can go ahead and reinstall the cover that goes over the front head of our bike carrier. more

In no specific order, well loosen up both the front and rear bracket to bring the brackets around the underside of the crossbars. Note that for the front of the bracket, you must first remove the skewer in order to have access to the front two Allen bolts. Well then loosen up the Allen bolts to bring the bracket around the front crossbar; well then tighten them down and replace the skewer. Then for the rear bracket well loosen up the Allen bolts and bring the bracket around the rear the crossbar and then tighten them down with the included Allen key. more

We'll then remove the black front plastic cap on the front of the carrier to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into position.We can then move to the rear of the carrier where we will loosen up the allen bolt to bring that bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar and tying it down.We can then move up to the front of the carrier, where with the included allen wrench, we can tighten down the allen bolt, tightening the straps to the front crossbar, securing the carrier to the vehicle. After replacing the front black plastic cap, were ready to load our bike.We'll loosen up the tray strap and place the bike onto the carrier. We'll slide the forks onto the skewer and tighten it down and secure the back tire with the tray strap.That completes todays test fit for the Rocky Mounts Tie Rod, Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014 on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. more

Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2010 Jeep Compass well be installing part #: TH513, the Thule Domestique roof mounted bike carrier. Now, to begin our test fit well simply place the head of the bike rack over the top of the front crossbar, we can then bring the clamp around the underside of the crossbar and secure it loosely with the alen bolts provided. Well then move to the rear mount of our bike rack, place it directly over the rear crossbar and bring the clamp underneath it and loosely fit it to the rear crossbar. With both our mounts in place well simply move back and forth tightening down the clamps, securing it to our bike rack. RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2010 Jeep Compass well be test fitting part #: RKY1014, the Rocky Mounts Tie Rod roof mounted bike carrier. Now, to begin our test fit our vehicle is already equipped with the factory roof rack, so well need only to put the head of the bike rack over the top of the front crossbar and bring the rubber coated steel straps around and loosely secure them back to the head. Well then move to the back mount, put the back mount directly over the top of the rear crossbar and bring the clamp underneath and loosely secure it with the wing nut included with your bike rack. We can then tighten down both the rear mount and the front mount securing our bike rack to the vehicle. With the bike rack secured we can reinstall the cover on the head of the bike rack, well then make sure that the skewer is loose and that the rear wheel strap is undone and out of the way. we can then place the fork of the bike into the skewer and clamp it down. more

Thule Sidearm Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Compass well be test fitting the Thule Sidearm Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number TH5943XT. To mount the bike carrier up on our vehicle, well place it on of the roof rack, put the front clamp head over our front load bar and the rear clamp over our rear load bar. Well use the clamps and the included wing nuts to tighten down both contact points at the front and rear. Once weve done that, were ready to load our bike. Well set the bike in the wheel tray. Well take the side arm, bring it up and secure it around front wheel of our bicycle right by the brakes. more

Thule Echelon Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Jeep Compass- Video
Today we have a 2012 Jeep Compass and well be test fitting the Thule Echelon Roof Mounted Bike Rack part number TH518. To mount the Echelon to our Thule Roof rack, were going to fit the front clamp around our square load bar. Well use the included Allen wrench to tighten down the Allen head bolts and secure the front clamps around our front bar. In the rear, well take the wing nuts and the clamp, secure it around the bar and tighten down the wing nuts. With that, our bike rack is mounted up on the vehicle and were ready to load our bike. To load the bike, well place the front fork in the skewer and the wheel in the wheel tray. more

Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Jeep Compass- Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Compass and were gonna be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number TH513. To mount the carrier to our roof rack, well set it up on top of our load bars. Well fit the head of the bike rack over our front load bar. Well fit the bottom clamp around the bottom of our load bar and use the included Allen key to tighten down the Allen head bolts. Once we have the head of our bike rack secured, we can move to the rear, position the rear clamp and again tighten it down with the included Allen wrench. Once weve done that then well take our skewer, reinsert it into the head. more

Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Jeep Patriot- Video
Alright, today in this 2012 Jeep Patriot, we're going to do a test fit of a Thule Bike Rack, product number TH513, the Domestique Fork-Mounted Bike Carrier. Alright, now our Jeep has already been equipped with a Thule Roof Rack System on it with the Thule AeroBlades. And we have our bicycle rack already assembled according to instructions so it's just a matter of putting it in place. We'll take the clamp for the front of the bike rack. We'll run it around the first crossbar and then we'll slide a clamp for the second crossbar into place. Once you have it in the bars, position the way you want it, and then we can go ahead and attach the hardware and then tighten it down. more

Alright, today 2012 Jeep Patriot, we're going to do a test fit of product number RKY1014. This is the TieRod bicycle rack from RockyMounts. Now, our Jeep has been already equipped with an aftermarket roof rack system with elliptical bars, so it's just a matter of installing the TieRod on top of those. Our bike rack has already been assembled according to instructions so let's get to it. The front of the bike rack, we'll wrap the two straps around the crossbar and run until it catches on the other side, then we'll raise up the back half of the bike rack and slide the clamp into the other side. We'll loosely install the hardware and once we're ok with placement, we'll go ahead and tighten down everything for good. more
